Tots will go football crazy over new business

Football mad parents can finally indulge their tots in the beautiful game thanks to a new business for tiny footie fans.

Rosemary Inskipp and Sara Osman are tackling the male dominated world of football as the founders of Baby FC.  Frustrated with the lack of football merchandise available for infants, Baby FC was formed and launched the business to the general public at the recent Baby Show at Earls Court, London.

Rosemary said “Baby FC was born, if we can use the pun, from our desire to bring football to infants and infants to football in a dynamic and fun way.  We wanted to give even the youngest child a chance to join in with their family’s passion for the game but wanted to bring more to them than just an expensive replica shirt or a bib that says “The Worlds Best Dribbler”.

Baby FC has introduced a range of football themed products that families can purchase for their under 5’s.

The women’s career backgrounds in business and marketing have helped them build a thriving enterprise that offers some unique gift ideas.  Their most popular products include My First Football Book which is a keepsake for aspiring footie fans to capture their earliest memories of the game.  Another bestseller is Football Chants – From the terraces to the Nursery, a break from the traditional lullabies for football mad parents.

Sara said “We’re both keen football fans and for me, when my friends children were small I didn’t know many nursery rhymes or lullabies.  So I ended up singing quiet versions of football chants to help them sleep.  We decided to produce a CD that football mad parents could play to their kids to introduce them to the beautiful game – football chants for babies but without the rude words”.

New products in the pipeline include football themed mobiles for cots and buggies and a series of story books.

The pair were keen to build a business that was not just centred on merchandise and have introduced a membership programme and the first Football Academy for toddlers.  Baby FC offers football activities for tots and keeps parents up to date with the latest infant-related football news.  Combining balance and co-ordination with sharing and playing in a group, the Baby FC Academy introduced young children to important skills through music and movement.

Rosemary explains, “The Baby FC Academy will enable infants to get involved in football right from the start.  They can practise football based exercises using a variety of fun games to excite and engage them in physical activity.  Attending the Baby FC Academy will help make introducing football fun.”
